How In God's Name is it mid-September?
My favorite back alley in Portland, complete with a Prius at the end. |
I've been a little busy contemplating my place in life and fearing for it the last couple of weeks. And then it started raining.
Sidenote: Rain drives my dog nuts. She wants to go outside and spaz out (meaning, she wants to pee on shrubs and chase squirrels, possibly at the same time. During rain storms, she flops dramatically onto our floor. How does a dog flop dramatically? The legs basically fall out from under her and she sighs loudly as she hits the floor. Then, 5 minutes later, she walks a few circles and repeats the flop. Such a drama queen.
And now it's mid-September. I kind of can't believe it. T-Dubs is in Ft. Lauderdale for the next couple of weeks. She misses me and ME (the state). Mostly, she misses her dog. Yes, Daisy is all we talk about. The phone conversations are as obnoxious as you would expect.
The reason mid-September is significant: It really isn't. However, the countdown clock is running in my head to graduation day. May 19th. Now that the leaves are beginning to think about changing, May doesn't seem *that* far away.
Fall here is even cooler in person. |
Also, leaves are changing. Have you seen New England in the fall? It's quite nice. My friend Matt and his wife Amy are coming out for a visit. There will be beer consumed. Amy and I will be taking a trip somewhere for a couple of nights on a weekend.
Oh, and an 18-year-old cousin of mine keeps saying she wants to move in with us. So there's that. Good times. Stick with us as we ramp up our blogging efforts this fall.
But are your leaves prettier than those on the North Shore? Although ours are still green, so far.

I always liked the North Shore because it reminds me of New England. This really, really makes me want to road trip to Maine.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's really not mid-September yet. That would be Sept. 15. Maybe Sept. 13-17.
ReplyDeleteI love the dog's dramatic flop! Adorable! 70-5-7.
I'm presuming that the Amy with whom you plan "a trip somewhere for a couple of nights on a weekend" is T-Dubs and not Matt's wife? Transition in that sentence doesn't make it clear ...
