Live Free or Whatever

Fact: This mountain fell apart after I left New Hampshire. Hello, TW, I am your husband. That's how it felt Friday afternoon when she came back from taking a test at school. Though she got home from Florida six days earlier, we hadn't seen each other while both of us were conscious since Sunday night. Some guys would call that an ideal marriage. I am not one of those guys. TW had the brilliant idea to go on a two-night trip months ago, as a way to go enjoy fall in New England. Unfortunately, neither of us did anything to procure a room until two weeks ago. This just in: New England is a popular destination in the fall for some reason. These statues are in North Conway, N.H. I don't know why but we can assume the reasons are quaint. For those that have not visited New England in the fall, it's pretty spectacular for two reasons: maple trees are everywhere up here and there are mountains. The combination can be breathtaking. You don't know what it's got 'til you're gone

It takes me 3 minutes to walk to work. Not 3 minutes and 10 seconds, not 3 or 4 minutes. It takes 3 minutes. I've timed it. Like I always say, we are our parents' children. My dad is a retired 3M engineer. It will not shock my mother to read that I've timed my walk to work (as well as variations on the drive to work, to find the most consistently fast way to get here). I put a picture display at the bottom of this post. It's easy to take the walk for granted. Usually, I'm thinking about going to Dunkin' Donuts for a decaf coffee or getting a bowl of soup (Sidenote: Lookout for a blog on fun business names. This place is called "Karmasouptra"). Rarely am I paying attention to all the cool stuff along the walk. Recently, kitty corner from where I work, I discovered a little plaque. Newspapers rule! It's easy to miss.
